Originally from San Ignacio Misiones, Paraguay, Carmen moved to Michigan in 1987 after marrying her Detroit native husband Robert. Many of Robert’s relatives work in construction – building everything from stunning custom homes to entire commercial plazas – so Carmen quickly added knowledge of that industry to her background as a CPA. She also lived in South Florida for several years, where she gained experience in property management. Most recently Carmen worked alongside Robert in luxury condominium sales at the Hills of Pine Knob in Clarkston, where she conducted showings and consulted with buyers on building options.

 

Motivated by our market’s exciting revival, Carmen has decided to fuse her related experience with her lifelong passion for homes. She brings to the Sotheby’s International realty office a keen eye for a home’s potential and valuable judgment that clients will appreciate. Years of exploring the hidden gems of Oakland County and beyond, along with heading successful renovation projects for herself and friends, make her well-qualified to be a strong advocate for you throughout this process.

 

Carmen is fluent in Spanish and Guarani. She also speaks conversational Italian and Portuguese. She and her husband live in Clarkston, where she is a tennis captain at Deer Lake Athletic Club. Carmen is continually inspired by her daughter Mia, a University of Michigan graduate currently living in Los Angeles and pursuing her career in the film industry, and her son Carlo, who served in the United States Marine Corps and is now pursuing his career in the restaurant industry with the goal of one day opening his own restaurant.
